This page describes how refunds work on Trabaho.AE under UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection and its implementing Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023.
Summary #
- Job seekers pay nothing. There is nothing to refund.
- Employers pay AED 29 inclusive of 5% VAT for a 30-day listing. The refund rules below apply.
1. Pre-publication refund — full #
If a listing you paid for has not yet been published, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the payment. Reasons we will accept include (without limitation):
- You realised the listing had errors and don't want to fix and republish.
- Trade-licence verification is taking longer than you can wait and you want to cancel.
- You changed your mind. (You don't need to give a reason.)
Email support@trabaho.ae from the email address on the listing, quote the checkout_session_id shown on your receipt, and we will issue the refund to the original card within 14 calendar days of the request (typically 1–5 business days; the longer window is the statutory ceiling).
2. Auto-refund on trade-licence rejection #
If your trade licence fails reviewer verification and the listing therefore cannot be published, the listing fee is refunded automatically. You will receive an email confirming the refund. You do not need to request it.
Worked example.You pay AED 29 on Monday. On Wednesday our reviewers determine your trade-licence file is not legible. We email you a rejection, mark the listing terminated, and refund AED 29 to the original card. No action required on your side.
3. Post-publication refund — limited #
Once a listing has been published (visible to job seekers) the performance obligation under IFRS 15 has been satisfied and the listing fee is, as a default, non-refundable. However, you may still request a refund — at our discretion, and on a case-by-case basis — in the following circumstances:
- Platform fault. The listing was inaccessible for >24 hours due to a Trabaho outage, or applications were lost due to a Trabaho defect.
- Removal by Trabaho. We removed the listing for a non-fault reason on our end (e.g., a false-positive content filter).
- Duplicate charge. Stripe billed the same listing twice — we will refund the duplicate.
Email support@trabaho.ae with the listing ID and a description of what happened. We respond within 5 business days.
4. Refunds we cannot grant #
- Quality of applicants. We do not refund based on how many or what calibre of applicants a listing attracted. The listing fee is for the right to publish, not a guarantee of a successful hire.
- Listing removed for violation. Listings removed for breach of UAE Labour Law, discrimination, scam indicators, or false attestation are not refunded.
- After 90 days. Refund requests outside the statutory 90-day window in Cabinet Decision 66/2023 Article 17 can be considered only on a goodwill basis and are not guaranteed.
5. How we issue refunds #
Refunds are issued via Stripe to the original payment method. They typically arrive in your account in 1–5 business days; the statutory ceiling is 14 calendar days. If your card was issued by a UAE bank, expect 1–3 days. If your card has expired, your issuer will route the refund to its successor account; if no successor exists, contact your bank.
If your refund includes VAT, the refund amount is the full AED 29 (i.e., 5% VAT is also returned). We will issue a credit note to match.
6. Partial refunds #
Partial refunds (for example, refunding the unused portion of a 30-day listing) are not standard practice but may be granted at our discretion in goodwill cases. The default is full refund or no refund.
7. Chargebacks #
Before opening a chargeback with your bank, please email support@trabaho.ae first. We can usually resolve disputes faster than the bank can. If you do open a chargeback, your account may be paused while we respond to the bank's evidence request; we will not retaliate against you for using your statutory chargeback rights.
